Health Insurance of Foreigners for Cases of Emergency Care provided by VZP, a.s. insurance company

This insurance provides for acute and emergency care, including acute dentist care, in the Czech Republic and in a transit country when travelling to the Czech Republic. Effect of the insurance policy may be agreed from the day following the day of making the insurance contract. Insurance is agreed for particular days and the minimum insured period is three days. This insurance product provides also for significant group discounts. This insurance suits persons with a short-term stay in the Czech Republic.

 

Health Insurance of Foreigners for Cases of Emergency Care provided by VZP, a.s. insurance company

This insurance covers all costs of acute hospital care including medicaments. Foreigner needs to pay nothing in the hospital. It also covers all costs of acute care provided by an out-patient physician. Visiting a physician the foreigner needs to pay nothing except medicaments prescribed by the out-patient physician. He/she will pay for medicaments in a pharmacy (drugstore).

 

This insurance covers also costs of acute care by a dentist. The foreigner must pay the costs to the dentist but then these costs are reimbursed to him/her in an office of VZP, a.s. insurance company or he/she will hand the bill to his/her insurance agent who shall arrange for the reimbursement.

 

·        Insurance policy covers costs of transportation to the country of foreigner´s residence

·        Insurance policy may be made for any number of days; maximum for the period up to one year. In accordance with the new „foreigners act“ it may cover also two-year period.

·        There is no medical check required

·        Insurance policy contract can be made in offices of VZP, a.s. insurance company (the company has its offices all over the Czech Republic) or through an insurance agent.

 

It is sufficient to report passport number, name and surname, home address in the country of foreigner´s residence (for the purpose of repatriation) and address in the Czech Republic, date of birth and required period of insurance to make an insurance policy.

Insurance is recognized by foreigners’ police. It contains protective elements and number codes, fake insurance identity cards are detected immediately.

Foreigner usually gets a list of physicians, specialists and hospitals operating in the place of his/her residence where he/she may turn to in case of health problems. Furthermore, there is 24-hours service provided by international company AXA Assistance CZ where operators speak Russian and Ukrainian

- This insurance is ideal for those foreigners who are interested in quality and fast-response insurance for a shorter period of time.

 

This insurance is not suitable for pregnant ladies as it does not cover pregnancy care and delivery of a child. This insurance is not suitable for children as it does not cover mandatory vaccination and preventive care.

 

Insurance covers future risks; it is impossible to insure a client already sick in the moment of making the insurance policy.

Česká finanční a pojišťovací služba, s.r.o., U divadla 339, 356 01, www.cfps.cz is the only authorized insurance agent for VZP, a.s. insurance company.

If for any reason a practitioner requires payment in cash, the foreigner must insist on receiving a bill and medical report. The medical report must indicate that the emergency care was provided. Costs will be then reimbursed to him/her in the office of VZP, a.s. company or the foreigner shall hand the bill over to his/her insurance agent who will arrange for the reimbursement.

In case of any problems when visiting physician, the foreigner may call assistance service or his/her insurance agent or he/she may ask the practitioner to call there.
