Information about recognition of professional qualification or specialised qualification of  physician, dentist and pharmacist of foreign and Czech citizens, who obtained professional or specialized qualification of the mentioned professions  in countries,  which are not members of the European Union

 

Above mentioned medical staff has professional qualification to exercise the medical  profession in the Czech Republic 

 

upon successful passing of an approbation test 

(approbation tests are organized by the Ministry of Healthcare)

upon proving medical fitness  

(medical certificate of medical fitness issued upon application of assessed physician, dentist or pharmacist)

upon verification of integrity

(statement of criminal records not older than 90 days)

upon verification of ability to express professional matters in Czech language, including in writing

(ability to express professional matters in Czech language in the scope necessary to exercise medical profession is verified in the course of approbation tests, and not separate)

namely under Act no. 95/2004 Sb., as of March 3rd, 2004 with the effect from April 3rd, 2004.

 

            Approbation test corresponds to the content and scope of knowledge and skills obtained in accredited master´s degree studies provided by Czech Republic Universities.

 

The applicant must attach following documents to the application

document evidencing education level reached

(authenticated copy)

its translation into Czech language (must be made by an interpreter registered in Register of Sworn Interpreters of the Czech Republic)

certificate of recognition of university level of education (authenticated copy)

      -    identity papers copy

 

 

Due to the fact that the third part of approbation test, so called professional practice,  runs in the form of employment – with respect to legal liability - it is necessary

to be a holder of visa with the stay purpose code which will allow the applicant to enter into employment relations in the Czech Republic.

(or to get asylum, refugee status, permanent residence permit or Czech citizenship)

 

If the applicant starts the approbation test with visa not containing corresponding purpose of stay, he cannot be admitted for the third part of the approbation test ( professional practice); he/she may continue the test only upon presentation of the stated document allowing respective stay in the Czech Republic, and namely within 24 months.

 

Applications for approbation tests to be passed are accepted by the Ministry of Health always by March 15th or September 15th.

 

All the applicants filing approbation test application together with all the above mentioned documents to the Ministry of Health of the CR shall be notified of the approbation test term and venue 30 days before the test, latest.

 

In this respect we turn your attention to the fact that the approbation test is a paid test – the application must bear a duty stamp of CZK 1000 value.

 

The applicant will get detailed information about the content and formal arrangement of the approbation test when filing the application in the Ministry.

If failing in the approbation test, the applicant may ask for its repeating twice.
